The workshop will explore how organizations can turn existing corporate vocabularies into automatically generated content tags, advanced search rules and metadata filters, for delivering relevant content to staff and customers.
The presentation will feature live examples using Inxight Categorizer to demonstrate content tagging and ISYS Search to show advanced search capabilities; however, the techniques described will work with any similar software. Participants will learn how to:
- Exploit the relationships among the components of the corporate vocabulary to structure
effective metadata rules regardless of software syntax
- Keep subject specialists in control to deliver consistent, accurate results
- Optimize the use of word variants (through stemming) to identify correct content
- Employ proximity tests to find content in relevant locations and context
- Use weightings to improve results quickly and consistently for hundreds of topics
- Test the accuracy of results to balance precision and recall
