Jonathan Engel, InfoArk’s chief information architect, is designing a comprehensive corporate vocabulary, to be employed within all key information systems at the UK's leading children's charity.

For example, the new classification scheme will define consistent business intelligence indicators for the Oracle Enterprise Information Management system, specify standard headings for the Microsoft Customer Relationship Management data base and introduce controlled terms for a Digital Asset Management system.

The consistent terminology allows business intelligence dashboards for the first time to highlight resources dedicated to 10 top-level service categories and 14 types of service user.

In future, the standard vocabulary will provide revamped navigation routes and improved search functionality for the Livelink content management system.
